We were in Ormond Beach, Florida two weeks ago and a black bear was captured not too far from where we were staying.
People used to say there were no bears in southern Georgia too, until the DNR caught one in a Cracker Barrel trash dumpster right here in my town....and two weeks later one was hit by a car about ten miles out of town.

I guess you never know what's gonna come up outta the woods these days.

Uh, yeah, it's called wildlife.   :o  8)

If the gummint man says it can't happen, well, it can and probably will.

If you live in bear country,,,,,what ever happened to the old RIFLE on the mantle?

Cougar's, bears, lions,, tigers,...Oh My,...at least 12g with slugs, or buck n ball,....

The LEO's should carry the 870 in bear country, the trained ones with an AR-10 in .308...

It's bear country!!!

and it's called a rifle,,.....although anything is better than nothing...

The Mosquito will at least piss it off long enough t get to a larger weapon....

Gee, it seems like only yesterday that our very own MB took on a mountain lion with a Sig P226.

That's a 9mm for the uninitiated.  ;D

They trapped 14 bears behind one motel the last time we were in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

I don't know if my sarcasm came out in a previous post, but if you build in the animals back yard......you might expect a visit or two from time to time.

"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison

I'd rather have moose, bears and mountain lions than the human assholes I'm surrounded by.

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
Col. Jeff Cooper.

AMEN

Saw some women on TV news a few years ago that was a Kalifornia valley girl bimbo transplant to somewhere around Yellowstone or Glacier.  She moved there to get back to nature and ended up with a bear problem and was whining and carrying on about it.  The only bear problem I saw was it didn't eat her and poop what it couldn't digest.

I feel sorry for the bear that swallows that much silicon.
