FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Just months after being named employee of the year, a Broward Sheriff's Office deputy was arrested and charged with sexual battery, among other charges.

Tuesday morning, Jonathan Bleiweiss, 29, faced a judge who formerly charged him with 14 counts including sexual battery, armed forced imprisonment and stalking. "You have several serious charges against you," said Judge John Hurley at the hearing.

During a press conference Monday, Broward Sheriff Al Lamberti said the 29-year-old, who has been with the force for seven years, preyed on some of the most vulnerable people in the community: undocumented immigrants. Lamberti went on to say that Bleiweiss took advantage of their fear of deportation.

The press conference by the Sheriff Lamberti, must have a strong case, as he pulled NO punches during his press conference.
NO bail, Suspended without pay..

And isn't one of the cable channels coming out with Women of the Broward County Sheriff one of these days? And isn't the county just about broke?

You'd think the Sheriff would have better things to do than allow that inane show on the air.

The TV show COPS has had multiple segments in Broward County. YES the county is about broke, YES they will prostitute themselves for any money through TV, and YES having corrupt, criminal LEO's is an insult to the Deputies that DO make a difference.

It's very sad, but the bad "apples" have to go..

Deputy Bleiweiss is a disgrace. He is breaking the very law that he is sworn to uphold. That makes him a double scumbag in my book. Giving the good people in his department a black eye is equally as shameful. >:(

Let's slow down just a minute, here, guys.  If he did what he is accused of he is a reprehensible human being who should be put  so far under the jail that they have to pipe down sunshine!!

That being said, at this point the way I read things, he has been CHARGED, not convicted.  Unless and until he is convicted, I don't think the Sheriff should be throwing him under the bus.  Suspended, absolutely, but holding a press conference proclaiming his guilt?  Whatever happened to the presumption of innocence?
I love waking up every morning knowing that Donald Trump is President!!

We had a officer a couple of counties away getting his jollies with teenage girls he would pullover. He got caught when one bit him and went to the state police. All he got was probation and lost his job. His house was vandalized several times, the other officers didn't even investigate, so he finally moved away. I heard he got a job at a prison in Florida, then got fired for having a affair with a female inmate.

We don't need perverts in law enforcement, any more than we need them in the armed forces.

If he was my employee, he would be fired on the spot.  if he was the in the private sector, he would be canned...
