Today is V-J Day
« on: August 14, 2009, 07:03:19 AM »
August 14, 1945

This is the day on which the surrender of Japan to the Allies was announced to the American people. The formal surrender was conducted on September 2, 1945.

I have no clue who still celebrates it actually, but its odd, we still remember Pearl Harbor but not the day of surrender.

What a day it must have been.

Figure it would be Sailor,.... ;)

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
Col. Jeff Cooper.

God Bless the "Greatest Generation."

Their love of God and country, their sacrifices and their courage changed the world.

They will never be forgotten.
“What country can preserve its liberties if its rulers are not warned from time to time that the people preserve the spirit of resistance?”

Thomas Jefferson, 1787
