August 14, 1945

This is the day on which the surrender of Japan to the Allies was announced to the American people. The formal surrender was conducted on September 2, 1945.

I'm Guessing it would be the only US state that they actually invaded, Alaska.

I have no clue who still celebrates it actually, but its odd, we still remember Pearl Harbor but not the day of surrender.
