Cops and poor pistol skills is something I've never understood. I know its real. I've seen it, I've read about it, I just don't get it. I mean not knowing how to shoot isn't just not knowing how to do your job, its not knowing how to stay alive. Maybe I'm strange, but when I worked at an outfitters, I studied all the catalogs from North Face and Patagonia etc so I could tell my customers the details of what we were selling. When I was a courier I spent some QT with a street map of DC looking for shortcuts that would save me time and money and as a teacher I spend 4 hours in the library searching for every hour I spend lecturing on a new class. Why? To do my job right. If I were a cop, where the consequenses of a bad shot or a slow draw was your life or that of an innocent you were supposed to protect I would be at the range at least once a week. That's not internet tough guy stuff either, its just how I view my work, I take it seriously and do my job. The worst I've had to worry about is getting fired, not getting shot. I do not get cops who are not religious about pistol practice.
