I currently fly a King Air 200 for the largest air medical provider in the world.  We shall see how long that lasts when obamacare starts paying us pennies on the dollar for our efforts.  I also flight instruct on the side, but more so for enjoyment than money.  And although I make no money at it, I play guitar in a christian band.

Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. The only thing you can’t do is ignore them

BTW:  I am a retired LEO.  Currently doing a morning drive radio show (mainly for shits and giggles, though they do pay me reasonably well), and my REAL job is managing a cell phone/satellite TV store.

Video game development, chaotic right now, and artist.

90% of them couldn't hit their ass with both hands and would stand a very good chance of blowing a cheek off if they tried.
Thats why those NYC cops fired 40 some odd rounds at a guy in a hallway and only hit him 3 - 5 times, and only ONE of those was a solid hit, There was a case in Ca. in the 90's Several cops woke up a woman sleeping in her car, she reached for something they emptied their pistols, she was not hurt.
Yeah, Cops are GREAT with pistols, Very few of them are Jim Cirrilo, or Mossad Ayoob.

I was out shooting some of the state police when I was twelve.  These days it doesn't seem like a priority for local traffic enforcement department law enforcement.

Does that say more about the LEO's or me?

Cops and poor pistol skills is something I've never understood. I know its real. I've seen it, I've read about it, I just don't get it. I mean not knowing how to shoot isn't just not knowing how to do your job, its not knowing how to stay alive. Maybe I'm strange, but when I worked at an outfitters, I studied all the catalogs from North Face and Patagonia etc so I could tell my customers the details of what we were selling. When I was a courier I spent some QT with a street map of DC looking for shortcuts that would save me time and money and as a teacher I spend 4 hours in the library searching for every hour I spend lecturing on a new class. Why? To do my job right. If I were a cop, where the consequenses of a bad shot or a slow draw was your life or that of an innocent you were supposed to protect I would be at the range at least once a week. That's not internet tough guy stuff either, its just how I view my work, I take it seriously and do my job. The worst I've had to worry about is getting fired, not getting shot. I do not get cops who are not religious about pistol practice.
FQ13

Most cops get into that line of work for reasons other than guns - service, community work, no need to get a college education and still make decent money, promotions, etc. And, as Tom noted, most never draw their weapon. One of the Sheriff's Captains (there are only 3) did not even know what model Glock or what brand/type of ammo he carried, just not his thing.

The Sheriff's gun trainer here had some of the worst safety skills I've seen by anyone other than a newbie - and I like him! Had people with fingers on triggers waving the muzzle all over the place - with open boxes of ammo within inches of the people. No eye protection even available on the range either.

Just a lowly ABYC marine electrician, have a knack for wiring things, the Italians and other European yacht builders keep us busy, as they just make things more complicated...and nice junk as we say,...

but the rich are getting "ansy" with all the the "tax the rich" fodder out there.... It almost killed us in the Clinton era with the Luxury tax.

Gotta keep the uber rich around, it keeps not just us sparky's around, but many more tradesmen as well.

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

Hmmmmmmm ... Sounds like the basics of trickle down economics works.  Not saying everything with the program is perfect, but the principle that says if you don't let the spenders have their money to spend you hurt more than just them is right on!

That can't possibly work.  Everyone knows that the rich have all the money, there is no more to go around, and they just hoard it in their mattress without spending it to keep the little guy down.  The only thing to do is take steal it from them.  The government knows the right thing to do with the money and the best way to spend it  give it away waste it.
