Ah, here's the rub, ironic justice.   FIVE years ago, when John Kerry was running for president.  Kennedy pressure the Mass legistlature to pass a law requiring a public vote on replacement congress seats.   Despite all the high-faluting rhetoric he was concerned that if Kerry won, Gov Romney (R) would appoint a republican.   

JUST THIS MONTH, Kennedy was pressuring Mass Legislature to reverse that law, so that when he died, the now Democratic governor could appoint the replacement!

I don't think they passed the reversal.  So the people of MA will get to vote.
