On saturday we had a new guy come to the club with another member and shot his .22 s&w and 22wmr rifle.
After the comp I let him try some real guns, 9mm cz, .357 taurus and redhawk even my .22 charger much to his delight. Nothing lit up his eyes when another senior member and myself placed a .44 in his hand each (with us on either side supervising) and let him blast a couple rounds off at the same time.. I think he is hooked now

Its certainly not something that you would let every newby try but there are some exceptions - he was stoked and you couldnt wipe the grin off with an wire wheel and a angle grinder. Shooting should be many things and unfortunately in these days of goody goody antis and half wit politicians the fun bit is often left out, and as long as its safe the fun part should be encouraged if we want our sport and way of life to continue, after all we arent getting younger and we need people to take over when we are worm bait.
