I never knew it was "Community Service Day", according to BHO, he made it sound like I should be picking up trash at the beach today.
My flag, (new one BTW), has flown since that day, and everyday since.
I will NOT respond to Woody's comment, thank you to those who did.
My memories on Ocean Isle Beach, NC, making a service call, watching a 13" TV with "rabbit ear" reception on CBS, because it was the only channel I could get, changed my very life and perspective of the future for my family and this countries future.
I heard it on the radio driving down, but even with crappy reception, I sat alone in the salon of that yacht and cried, got scared, got pissed all at once. It is a feeling I will never forget.
My boss called, said to make the decision whether to finish the repair, or get back home, as no one knew how much more was or was not coming.

Tough day 8 years later, I'm afraid the wound inflicted on this day, will not heal for myself, the families, or this country, for a long time.
For those on Flight 93, THEY set a precedent that will never be forgotten, and in that terrible instant, knowing the consequences, were welcomed into the hands of God for their brave actions. The ultimate sacrifice by men like Todd Beamer and others, that represent the best of America. For them, "We Still Roll".
God Bless All the Victims and their families, and despite a "Community Service Day", God Bless This Country.
"and that's all I've got to say about that."
Forrest Gump.
