Recently I gave Ruger a bit of a bagging for their non willingness to supply certain items off their website to australia directly, and I suppose I still hold to those feelings however at the time the CEO had a message service to tell him about the things you would improve, suggestions, things that piss you off etc. Being the type of person I am I took advantage of this opprtunity to voice some concerns I had. One of the things that bug me is down under we always miss out on the specials that companies like ruger have for eg the carhart jacket - only open to residents of the US. Well thats all fine and doody but hello we support these companies as well and it wouldnt hurt once in a while for them to say hey thanks for buying our products heres a complimentary cap etc. Which is basically what I wrote to him.
Today I arrived home after a crap day and found that I had a package delivered airmail from the states, not that its unusual but I couldnt remember any thing I had ordered that was due to arrive. I looked on the delivery receipt and it had the address of S R and Company Inc 200 Ruger Road, Prescott AZ 86301.
I opened the packet and found inside a Ruger Cap, a few stickers, cloth patch etc. I was stoked, not so much for what was in the box but the fact that Ruger had actually listened and felt inspired to send something. The actual freight cost more than the goods LOL.
It seems that at least once CEO of one company takes the time to at least read emails/letters addressed to him and take action as a result. I wish all companies were this obliging and hopefully Ruger may look after its supporters over the waves.
So Well Done Mr Ruger!
It doesnt take much to make us happy, just to be thought of once and a while is all it takes.
