Ultimate vehicle choice for the apocalypse?

Something diesel, gas will be to hard to find, even the conversion to run off cooking oil, lamp oil, etc,....

For me it would be a boat, with 671 Cummins Diesels, maybe Duetz, no computer control , simple to maintain, they run on broken valves, cracked heads, and almost no oil pressure.

Sail back up, need to get off shore for a while and island hop until the survivors organize and some communication can be restored.

An old Bertram would be fine.  34-42 feet.  I would have the name "Eat Me" on the transom.

As a pirate sinking the other ship sorta defeats the purpose and I don't think you could mount that on yer average pleasure boat.

Plus 10! Note to Deepwater, issue sharps rifles to merchant marine crews. It should keep insurance low, stay within most nations gun control laws and lend a touch of retro class to pirate popping. Seriously, AK from 40 foot speed boat, vs Sharps from from 200 foot vessel at 500 yards with a 2 ft chop. Who wins?
