While I'm sure the number is really low, I really doubt its 1%. FTF sales are very hard to keep track off. Most guns used in crimes are stolen.
True, but a very large percentage can be traced to a very small number of dealers (not gun shows, but dealers). The one useful thing Chuck Schumer,my least favorite Senator, did was was commision a study showing that 2% of gun shops sold a stupidly high (like 70%) of the guns used in murders. It SHOULD be easy to put these bad apples out business. Shut them down and let the rest of us go on about our business. But, no. The anti's have a larger agenda. It isn't about bad apples, its about banning guns (because that will end gun crime as surely as banning pot will make sure no one smokes it). The gun show bit is nothing but a ruse. Hell, I've sold a half dozen guns here (including a very nice AR on sale now

). Am I the problem? Are you for buying it? No, and they know this. The idea is to regulate and record every sale so that each gun and owner is on record so that they can then pull an Australian style gun ban. It probably won't happen, but that's what they want. And they are laying the ground work to get there. Private sales get in the way of their program. They know it and we should too. Bloomberg is at least semi-honest about his agenda. The fact that this guy is a Republican is reason 2,456 why I don't trust either party further than I can throw it.
