It's Carbine day at the range
« on: October 09, 2009, 08:08:11 PM »
In honor of "tranefan"s' M1 Carbine purchase (nice catch).

I'm usually the first one there on Friday, so I declared it, "Carbine Day At The Range"...   Okay, nobody listens to me, and in fact, eveybody else was shooting their deer rifles (season opens tomorrow).  I did scarf some 7mm-08 brass for future use.

ANYWAYS.  At least I pay attention to what I say, and it was Carbine day.  Took my IBM M1 and my Marlin Camp 9 out for a spin.  Both great 50 yard shooters.  Had a blast.   Here's my two carbines.  The Marlin sports an old Aimpoint 1000 red dot.  Haven't used it in a while, but it was obvious on the range why AP commands the prices they do.   Very clear 3moa dot.

Alf, the classic lines and wood stocks make me get all tingly...

Nice pics...
Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

Bad picture.   (Wife promises me a new camera for Christmas)  Actually, as part of my current job I do color correction, both live video and in post production.   I should/could have done a better job.  I didn't like the pics, but was in a hurry tonight.  More worried about contrast and seeing details than in color.

The M1 metal s gray (Parkarized).    The sling is light OD green.
