AAARGH! And again AAARGH! Look, I know Ruger has never been an innovator. They made their bones by taking existing designs and making them stronger and cheaper. This is true from their SA revolvers to the mini-14 to the 10/22 to the LCP to their AR. Still, do we need, or even want another 1911? Are the 400 different different models out there not enough? The damn thing is pushing a hundred years old. Is it too much to ask that a company that can drop a seven figure budget on their R@D department to be able to come up with something new and innovative? Honestly, if I want a 1911, I'll buy Tarus if I'm on a budget or Springfield or Para if I'm flush. I would not spend a second lamenting the lack of a Ruger in the marketplace. Where is caseless ammo? Where is a round that is small, but goes in like a penny and out like a pizza? Where is a pistol that will let you change calibers by changing uppers? Where is innovation? If the best Ruger can do is a "hey guys, wait up, I've got one too" 1911, I will be dissapointed.
