This is not the Saturday go to the range and blow through 100 rd. rifle. Heck, my 1891 Argentine Mauser, is just fine with 15-25 rds.(Than my shoulder is sore for an extra day),... Plus, for now, I have the up close defensive "inside the wire" assortment covered. This rifle would be for another application.

First, since I was a kid, with a Crossman 760 air pump BB/pellet rifle, I have loved rifle shooting. Pistol shooting was the cats meow, BUT rifle shooting, "The Art Of The Rifle", which I have been reading again....has always been a pursuit of never ending improvement.

My Sig556, Saiga AK, Winchester 30-30, Mauser, and 10/22, love them all, for what they are.  This would take it to the level that would be the top of the heap. (until I win the powerball),.. ;)

Doesn't happen often, but when you have that hard to describe feeling, that target, that "zone", than it is just a matter of time.

Next year, I'll get the Sharps. ;D

I just received my new American Rifleman Magazine for March and the Savage 110 BA is the cover rifle along with a feature article. Good reading! I just hope they sell the bolt handle. I'd like to replace the one on my 10-FP and 110 FCP-K with it.  Bill T.

at 300yds. it hits with over 5,000 lbs of muzzle energy.



Unless I read this wrong there is a big misunderstanding. The .338 Lapua approaches 5000 ft lbs of energy at the muzzle, but at 300 yards it has from 2600-3200 Ft/lbs dependent on the load. Was this a typo?

"Sort of" a typo. The chart you posted is pretty close. It shows 4,924 ft. pounds at the muzzle with a 210 grain bullet, and 3,209 ft. pounds at 300 yards. On the chart velocity is on the left, energy on the right. It is worded incorrectly because muzzle energy is obviously at the muzzle. Energy at 300 yards is at 300 yards. The only way you could measure muzzle energy at 300 yards would be with a 900 foot barrel.   ;D    Bill T.

Article was specific to muzzle. This clears it up, with rds. up to 275 gr.

300yds. with a 250gr. Barnes hits at 2999 ft/lbs energy, NOT 5000.... ;)

500 yds, anywhere between 1750 & 2250.

Bottom line. It will "thump" the target, really, really, really, really, hard.... 4 legs, 2 legs, 4 wheels, etc,... those Zombies are going DOWN!
