Most Worthless Pets ???
« on: March 03, 2010, 03:04:34 PM »

These are mine. Sam, (Golden Retriever), and Brandy, (Cat). Sam is 9 1/2 and Brandy is 16. Both are doing what they do best, NOTHING. On cold nights both end up in the bed with us. Brandy is no problem, but Sam is 95 pounds, and he snores. Both get bathed every week, (Melanie's job). Don't want to sleep with a stinky dog or cat. The electronic camera flash didn't even wake them.

Sam can still haul a$$ after a Frisbee. I roll it on the ground at the park because I don't want him jumping. It's hard on their hips. He's got a lot of stamina for a older dog. The problem with pets is they just don't live long enough. I'll miss these guys when they're gone. Let's see your pets!!   Bill T.

Sam reminds me of my dear, departed buddy, Gen.  Completely worthless, but that didn't keep me from becoming a basket case when she died.

Thanks for allowing me the opportunity to stop and remember the good times with her, Bill.

I know what you mean. Back in 1996 I had to have my German Shepard, Pogey put down due to cancer that all but ate her insides out. I will never forget that walk into the vets office for the shot. I held her head because it dropped like a rock into my hand. That will be with me until the day I die. I know the same is coming for Sam in time. It will for sure be a day I can live without. I love stepping over those animals when they're sleeping.  Bill T.

Isn't it amazing how 95 pounds of fur can wrap itself around your heart so completely?   :)

I had this old pointer spike (she was half brittany, which is why I got her free, but looked all pointer). She made it to 17. Talk about worthless, she was so bad my hunting and falconing buddy actually forbade me to speak her name in front of his dogs. (Try to eat one Prarie falcon and people never forget. Sheesh! ;D :-[). Anyway, she was the world's best pet. When she got old, she started to hate getting in the car as she was nearly blind and it freaked her out. I found a very good vet that did house calls. He charged $30 just for showing up, but otherwise was a bit cheaper than my previous vet as he wasn't paying the overhead of a clinic. Blood work and stuff was ala cart, but about the same rate. Plus, it was very nice when she finally had to be put down that it happened at home. I would see what you can find in Phoenix Bill.

This is my two trouble makers. The black lab mix on the right is Josh. The chocolate Lab pup is Buck. Whats all over there face?  ???
That's pancake mix. The pup drug it out of a lower cabinet, took it out side ( Good Dog) and they both proceeded to rip the bag to pieces and eat the contents. Buck is now 2 1/2 and has finally quit chewing up the trees in the yard. Your right! Dogs for sure do not live near long enough. By the way, the wife has a cat that's 19 and still going and going and going ::)
