I've given some serious thought to a Moisin. This is because I like the history of the thing and the idea of having an accurate yet disposable gun (less than $150) has a certain appeal as a truck gun. The thing is though, it won't do a thing that my .270 can't do and its a RH bolt. So while I am strongly tempted every time I turn on the History or Military Channel, I will decline. :-\
FQ13 who may one day regret this decision, and if anyone can find me a bargain on a Springfield or Garand will throw logic to the wind, particularly the Springfield. ;D

Not sure what you mean TAB..................shoulder? Have you ever shot one? They really aren't that bad.

I have some Egyptian 8 gr 7.62x54R for people that don't like recoil.

Someone once told me they kick like hell after you cut the bayonet off. And this guy would know. He had 28 or 29 of them at the time (Not all without the bayonet. Jut one I believe.)......

I have shot a few myself as I've bought exactly 50 Mosins over the past 2 years. That includes M38's, M44's and 9130's.

How hard is it to find one in new, unissued condition?  Bill T.

They're not near as bad as a 303 Jungle Carbine.

That's a nice stock on the 91/30 on the bottom. Where'd you get it?

I'm starting to like these rifles. Good price, and even better priced ammo.  Bill T.

You can also modify them pretty cheaply too. I PMed Operator on his cost to cut one back to 20" and recrown it. He figured about $150. This would kll the "authenticity" but you'd still have a nice truck gun with cheap ammo for $230.

I got a real surprise when Big Brown pulled up this week.

I had ordered 5 more Mosins and an ATI stock from J&G  I couldn't believe it when the driver passed me one carton of 5 rifles and I said was that it and he said "no, you have another carton just like that one on here."

By mistake they sent me 10 rifles.  I'm thinking hmmmmmmmmmmmm, I guess I just got an early birthday present from J&G as technically, legally they were mine if sent to me and I didn't order them.

Anyway to make a long story short, they were supposed to go to someone else and my shipping labels printed out on both boxes.

They wanted me to ship them back, but I said to just bill me for them and I'd keep them if they wanted to eat the shipping. They were happy with my offer and it worked for me.  I wouldn't have felt right just keeping them.

Mosin 91/30 anyone?
And here I am saying I'm temted, but no, I'll pass. BASTARD! ;D  What kind of shape are they in and how much plus shipping to FL.?
FQ13 who is going to regret asking this ;D
