I have ended my pellet gun search. I blame what I have done entirely on you people! Enablers, the lot of you, with no sympathy for a man's disease! I'm talking to you CJ, and all of you on the airsoft thread.
I have ordered two new toys. I got an el cheapo $20 battery powered semi-auto airsoft that looks vaguely M@Pish. Its low powered, 140 fps, so it should be good for in the house practice. We will see. If it sucks, no biggie.
On the toad and iguana front, I just couldn't help myself. It was wrong. It was ill advised, but how could I say no? Damn you CJ!
I ordered a remanufactured Umarex STEEL STORM (it has to be in all caps, or the silliness factor doesn't come through ). Anyway, I will now have a full auto BB machine gun that shoots 6 round bursts at 600rpms at 430fps. It may or may not be enough gun for the big lizards, but damn it will be fun!
FQ13 who will post a range report for both upon delivery.

$55 if you buy remanufactured from airgundepot.com. Apparently its a defective product that was returned. They put in all new internals. The outside is the only thing used. It seems like an easy way to save 30 percent.

I'm guessing this is legal since everyone and their dog is selling it. Usually around $80. Its that other mod, oh, what could that be? That is unfortunatelly illegal.

I think the reason for the 6 shot burst is to keep the CO 2 system from freezing up. When that happens the O-Rings start cracking. I had this happen to a Daisy CO 2-200 BB Pistol I had as a kid. It had a 5 shot magazine, and if you shot it rapid fire the CO 2 cartridge would freeze up in no time, causing the O Rings to become hard and crack. These guns all work much the same, and there is no way to exhaust CO 2 from these cartridges without refrigeration taking place. The big full auto guns use massive CO 2 supplies like the paint ball weapons to prevent this. I'm sure otherwise the conversion would work. There was a BB Machine Gun for sale in the 70's that used hardware store 1 pound canisters of Freon 12 that were avaliable before we got concerned about the people of Peru getting an unwanted Sun tan.  Bill T.
