In these days of huge national debt it seems we have just found an over bloated, unnecessary government program to end.

I feel a letter-writing campaign coming on!

With all of the newly elected Tea Party and conservatives in Congress, it is time we give them their orders -

1. Abolish the ATF
2. Defund TSA until they use the Israeli model of security
3. Get out of the UN
4. Rescind Obamacare, not just defund it - defunding means the rules are still there, they just can't be enforced due to a lack of money
5. Send Napolitano to prison for corruption, along with Rangel (who apparently will get a slap on the wrist for tax fraud et al.)
"I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted, I won't be laid a hand on. I don't do this to others and I require the same from them"

You can also add abolishing the Department Of Homeland Security. They aren't making anyone safer, just consuming money, while growing larger in the process.  Bill T.

I've always felt that if my car breaks down, I can call AAA.  If my boat sinks, I can swim.  If my airplane, has issues, however, I can't flap my arms fast enough to stay airborne.  The ever increasing hassles associated with air travel, combined with my own paranoia, pretty much guarantee that my backside will never grace the seats of a commercial airliner.  Thank you TSA, for giving me an excuse other than just being a pansy!   ;D  If I can't get there, in an acceptable amount of time, by sea or land, I don't need to go.

I've been on a couple of C-130's, a T-38 and a Cessna or two, but never been on a commercial jet and don't see it happening in the foreseeable future.

In spite of Mohammad and his buddies, air travel is still the safest from of transportation in the world. It is a proven fact you are safer in a commercial jet at 37,000 ft., than you are in your own living room. The problem today isn't flying, but rather getting on the plane!   Bill T.

Oh I agree 100% with what you said.....I just (along with what Swoop posted) haven't found or had anything come along (or expect to) that would warrant the hassle of dealing with the butt-wipes at TSA and the airlines themselves.

PS: My living room has a pretty good safety record, but many years ago, my bedroom was nearly crashed into by a drunk who had ran off our rural road, jumped the ditch in his 1970 Buick LeSabre, and stopped with the bumper less than 1" from my bedroom wall......while I slept with the head of said bed against said wall.

I as well. I would rather drive. At least I am in charge of my own destiny. My patience is extremely limited involving travel of any kind at this point in my life.  Bill T.

It really is sad, and the airlines I HOPE will start bitching. My mom can't afford to go to her neice's wedding in Charlotte. Why? She refuses to fly. She can buy a $200 ticket round trip ticket . But because she will be driving, she has to factor in gas, food, and an overnight stay enroute each way in addition. As she won't stay in anything much below a Holidday Inn or Hampton Inn or Redroof Inn for safety reasons that adds up. So a $200 trip with two $100 nights of hotels becomes  a six day trip with $800 in hotels plus $300 in gas plus $200 in food, plus wedding expenses. She figures it would be better (and cheaper) just to send a $600 check. I very much doubt she's alone.

I, unfortunately have to commute to work every 3 months-ish and must fly to do it. I fly from South America to Florida, then to wherever the ship may be. and flying out of Tampax Florida I have to do the 'X-ray'. I prefer the grope. how much radiation can a body take? does it accumulate to cause damage down the road? hell no. doctors wear lead aprins and stand behind walls to give you an x-ray in the hospital. so how is this so much safer? no thank you, I will take the damn groping, AND voice my opinion so all can hear it. (happened twice now). screw the damn TSA and the retards they hire to 'ensure my safety'.

AAAAHHHHH!!!!
