Back to my original argument. None of this will nail Mohammad with his dirt chute packed full of RDX, will it? If these guys pack dead children's bodies with I.E.D.'s to kill our guys, do you think their rear end is off limits when they walk on a plane? These scanners cannot detect plastic. They don't know it from a turd. Neither will the morons on the monitor. Bill T.

According to MB's podcast this morning, the devices cannot detect the difference between an RPG and a 1" square piece of paper - and the TSA mope copped an attitude when MB asked how that made us all safer!

Much like Hussein's Presidency, this whole thing is getting worse by the day. There is only one way to be safe in the air, and that is to profile. Based on nothing more than the fact that while not all muslims are terrorists, most all terrorists are in fact muslim. Until we not just recognise this simple fact, but act on it, this kind of silly, stupid, overpriced nonsense will continue. This is yet again a perfect example of how political correctness is destroying this country from within. The world without question has to be laughing at us. Quite frankly, I don't blame them. The entire matter has turned into a really sad, stupid joke.  Bill T.

 This policy goes a long way in showing the flying public what the TSA thinks about their rights.  Police and Military are instructed not to follow illegal orders, an x-ray or a  grope is an illegal search without cause so I feel I have a right to feel violated. I don't agree that the individual employee was just following orders so they escape blame, I know that if asked I couldn't put my hand inside another mans pants and feel up his family package. Where do we draw the line? Some people have no choice but to fly if they are to continue working a job that requires travel and I hope the outrage from the rest of us helps put this BS right.

You forgot auditing the fed.

That's a trap people have been led too!  Just abolish the Fed.  Don't audit, eliminate!!!  Of course that won't happen because it scares the bejeebers out of congressmen who have no idea of how to handle money of which it is their duty to control.

....
#1.  Flying is an optional activity that we chose to participate in;
#2.  If you are going to fly educate yourself, and hold both yourself and others to the standards;
#3.  Work through the system to correct it - TSA check points are not the place to flex your muscles if they are following the rules;
#4.  And back to #1, this is not a Right as compared to arms, speech, religion, and not even search because when you buy your ticket you give your consent to a search of yourself and your bags.
...........

Good points.

Anthing less than an 8-10 hour drive I don't fly commercial anymore.  I used to fly no less than twice a month and now it's maybe once every two years on commerical flights.  Heck, if you have enough people it sometimes makes sense to fly/rent a King Air and it often comes in cheaper without all of the scrutiny.  You get to talk to your pilot, fly into downtown airports that are most usually more convenient than large commercial jet type airports.  Small airports are often located in the actual city of your destination and not within the region thereby saving car rental and maybe a hotel stay.  I found that the people at the small airports are set up to handle really rich people so they are on the whole much more competent; the airports are clean along with perks they offer like free food at some places, free cars for a few hours to take into town in the less populated areas, etc....

People will vote with their feet....walking away from commercial airlines.  Lobbyists will get to work and this will go away.  I say separate the airport into those who eat and don't eat pork...from the passengers to the mechanics, pilots and baggage holders...everybody.  I still remember the little cheesey Palestinian at school who puked when someone opened up a ham sandwich in the room (and he did not see it, he smelled it).

Another thing Melanie brought up is with all of this pressure and political correctness being brought into the hiring of homosexuals in the workplace in today's society, especially at the government employment levels, who is to say the man or woman feeling you up isn't getting his or her jollies doing it? This is the kind of job that could or would attract a homosexual much like a pedophile to a day care center. Talk about "don't ask don't tell", who the hell would in that position? If that scenario were to be played out, the government would have a huge sexual harassment case on their hands based on nothing more than the fact the person on the job was found out to be a homosexual. Same sex "pat downs" are meaningless if that is the case. You know this is happening based on nothing more than the numbers of TSA employees that are out there. Think about it. What other job is there with the possible exception of someone in the medical profession, where an employee comes into direct physical, sexual contact with someone else on a constant basis, all day, every day? This whole thing is nothing more than a big train wreck just waiting to happen.

Don't think this type of thing isn't happening, or will in today's society. A few months back Mel and I went to a really nice strip club here in town. They were having a really big "Grand Opening" offering 2 for 1 double drinks all afternoon. Melanie thought it would be fun, so we went. The women dancers like to see couples at these places because they know they're "safe" to talk to.  We noticed several women were there. Many were by themselves which we both thought was a bit unusual. Mel was talking to one of the girls who stopped by and sat with us during one of her breaks. She told us in most of the places she has worked there are as many or more women hitting on her as men! The world is changing in more ways than you think! 20 years ago a single woman wouldn't be caught dead in a strip club, unless she was working there.  Bill T.

That's not a bad idea. Except the P.C. crowd would scream bloody murder, but who cares? The airlines should also serve pork based foods on all of their flights. If we're going to force people to drive, let it be the muslims. They're the ones who caused this whole fiasco to begin with!  Bill T.

Yet another example (courtesy of PhilW)

Airport staff 'exposed woman's breasts, laughed'

A WOMAN is suing over an incident where airport staff allegedly pulled down her top and joked about her breasts in public view.

The 23-year-old traveller, from Amarillo, US, is suing the US Government for the emotional distressed she says the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents caused.

The woman says she was singled out for "extended search procedures" while preparing to board a plane to Amarillo in May 2008.

“As the TSA agent was frisking plaintiff, the agent pulled the plaintiff’s blouse completely down, exposing plaintiffs’ breasts to everyone in the area,” the lawsuit said.

“As would be expected, plaintiff was extremely embarrassed and humiliated.”

The lawsuit claims that other employees laughed and made jokes about the incident "for an extended period of time".

The distraught woman left the screening area to be consoled but when she re-entered the boarding area employees allegedly started joking about the matter.

"One male TSA employee expressed to the plaintiff that he wished he would have been there when she came through the first time and that 'he would just have to watch the video,'" the suit said.

She wishes to remain anonymous due to privacy reasons.

Lawyers for the US Government confirm that the woman went through secondary screening but deny airport staff acted inappropriately.
