Sacramento-area pilot punished for YouTube video

The 50-year-old pilot, who lives outside Sacramento, asked that neither he nor his airline be identified. He has worked for the airline for more than a decade and was deputized by the TSA to carry a gun in the cockpit.

He is also a helicopter test pilot in the Army Reserve and flew missions for the United Nations in Macedonia.

Three days after he posted a series of six video clips recorded with a cell phone camera at San Francisco International Airport, four federal air marshals and two sheriff's deputies arrived at his house to confiscate his federally-issued firearm. The pilot recorded that event as well and provided all the video to News10.

At the same time as the federal marshals took the pilot's gun, a deputy sheriff asked him to surrender his state-issued permit to carry a concealed weapon.

Due process? We do' need no stinkin' due process!   >:(

And yet, when you fly through Minneapolis, you can watch all the mooslims working the tarmac with incredible access to the most sensitive parts of the airplane.

Big Sis is turning into a Nurse Ratchett, very quickly....

" You vill not betray us comrade, or you vill be punished ",.....I wouldn't be surprised if he's arrested. Of course, they took his firearm, but his CCW?

Well, federally issued firearm, fine, take it. But a CCW? Condemnation prior to investigation, aka guilty until proven innocent.

and it is Kalifornia.

The point remains that TSA is a pathetic joke to make the dumbasses think the gov is doing something.

whats wrong with taking his CCW?

Look at it from the issusing LEA.  Its no diffrent then when say a cop gets suspend and is asked to turn in thier CCW as well as thier duty gun.

I'm sure there is ALOT more to this.   New 10 is really bad about pushing "shock storys", they always seem to forget key details...   Trust me, i'm from the area.

How about the fact he did nothing wrong ?
If you think this is OK you deserve the nanny state you live in.

tom do you know he did nothing wrong?

The artical is leaving a bunch lacking...

if the artical is correct, he did violate some laws as well as policys.

It also says his ccw would be revaluted after the federal investagation is complete.

al this is pure conjecture, as we have no idea what happen.

Its pretty much SOP, when you are a LEO(  Federal Flight Deck Officer ) and you lose your gun, you lose your CCW as well.

I'd honestly be shocked if there was not a LEA that did not have have policy.

TAB, your right, we don't have every nuance of this issue. However, the pilots videos have nothing to do with firearms, just lack or slack security at SF. This is a shake down.

This is also a "Federal" matter, with the HSA, TSA, etc,.. and we both know how "pro-gun" they are. So, Air Marshall's (Fed), and Local Sheriff's came to his house, en masse, to send a message.

I wouldn't be surprised if he comes up for an IRS audit, you can't post the failures of our illustrious gov't agencies, without repercussions, as a pilot for a National Airline.

beleave it or not its illegal to video tape security procedures.  more so if its in a "employees only" area.  Posting it on youtube was a bad idea. I'd not be shocked if he lost his job over this.  rather its direct termanation or indirect.
