I went to Gun World in Harrisville, PA (big shout out) today to bring the original grips for the Beretta 92 I have on consignment.  When I got there they told me it was sold last week.  The selection at the shop is very bare right now, with only a G19 w/stainless slide in stock.  I wanted all black, so I took my check and left.  After depositing the check I headed for the closest Gander Mountain.  They had Glocks, but their prices were way high.  I continued south to Washington, PA and Ace Sporting Goods (another big shout out), which has the largest selection of guns in western PA.  I walked up to one of the many counters and encountered this:

Sorry, but the Glock will have to wait.   ;D

Wow, with ambi-safety to boot, front serrations, Trijicon sights, nice trigger. Good call.  When in doubt, with the plastic fantastic, nothing beats a well made, out of the box Springfield 1911A1.

Beautiful grips. I'm a sucker for the wood.  Great excuse to get more 47D Wilson Combat mags.

Very Nice.

Congratulations!

OK, so 47d Wilson Combat mags.  Anything else I should get?  It's my first 1911.  Since it's a Springfield, it came with a holster.  Of course it's right-handed and I'm not.

The only things I changed on my 1911 were the thumb safety, you already have an extended one and since you're a lefty you have use for the Ambi one, and the grips, I used Pachmyer signature's (wrap around rubber with rosewood inserts). I would change the GI sights on mine, but yours comes with Trijicons so I would say you re good to go.

Congrats on your first 1911.  Ya done good.
It looks like the only thing you really need is ammo and range time.
