What did you guys think of the new "True Grit"?

I think the new version is much better than the original.

IMHO....John Wayne was great as John Wayne.....and Jeff Bridges was good as Rooster Cogburn....
.....and I liked the new supporting cast better than Campbell and Darby.....

I just saw it last night and have to agree with Ulmus and Seeker. I like the remake.

I thought the original was OK when I saw it the first time....but I was 12. Even then Campbell/Darby sucked. The only thing more wooden was the caskets.
In movies, John Wayne played John Wayne with different outfits and names.

I bought it when it came out last Tuesday. I still haven't watched it yet. First movie that ever took me this long to watch. Now I'm starting to wonder why?  Bill T.
