I love that in the article about Greece, the press is begging international banks to bail out the Greek government just to stop the violence.  That's just so amazingly dumb...   "Lets throw good money after bad just so everyone gets along"...  Ugh!    God help us!

I can see everything your saying Tom.  And it's a scenario alright.  Not a good one, but certainly a possible one!

Thinking out loud here, but....  Here in the US there's SOOOO much money at stake for the whole world market...  We ARE the worlds consumers.  Bama is really giving it his best shot.  But I just can't see the world powers letting things here really collapse beyond where Greece is at right at this very moment.  For their own sake they'll bail us out.  As one book I know predicts  , we would be under a single world government.  Being the lazy sheep we've become, as quick as the riots start.  And our government says "We're to broke to do anything about it."  The UN, CHINA, or whoever, will move in and say.  "It's all right.  We'll take care of you."  And we'll follow them like a lost puppy.  I wonder how far along this path Greece is going to be allowed to go...  I think it will be an excellent indicator of where "whoever" is going to allow us to collapse before stepping in and taking over.

I certainly may be wrong, but I'd say given a choice of starting over, fixing things, and taking care of ourselves the way we did when we founded this country.  Or, welcoming in a new government of china (or UN) control, when they promise (as I'm sure they will).  "We're going to make everything all better for you!  Just sit back, relax, and let us drive the bus."  We're going to make the wrong choice!

We've just been conditioned to be to lazy to choose the right thing.  And if we somehow did.  I think we'd be taken over by military force.  Regardless, I foresee either Chinese or UN APC's patrolling our streets in the near future.

That's invasion by anybodys standards and that is why there are armed Americans. Who gives a damn if our govt invited them? If they are that neutered, they won't have any say in the matter.

The govt can't even stop mexican cartels operating in our country. If they are over burdened by mass riots, they will have no control over 80 million gun owners either.

With the economic collapse, the solution won't be to have China pay our bills for us. Theirs is a fiat and heavily manipulated currency, too much so for them to survive the meltdown. What will most likely happen is that the world's various currencies will be replaced by a single world currency - conveniently requiring a single, world gummint to control - and the sheeple will be convinced that this is the only solution to stabilize the world's economy.

No invasions required, no occupying forces necessary, all very neat and tidy. And voluntary too - unless you want to buy food.

I seriously think the people most disillusioned in all this are the ones thinking "American patriots" will resist at all.  The fact is america as a whole will do EXACTLY what Tom says.  If it means dropping Old Glory and hoisting a UN / Fema (or ANY other) flag so that they can go to Sams Club and buy toilet paper by the pallet, have warm food in their belly's, and watch teenage vampires in love on their big screens...  DONE!

Check Youtube for all the videos you want of how this will all play out.  It'll be just like it was when Katrina hit.  "NO citizen will be permitted to have a firearm.". PERIOD.  They did door to door searches, it they even thought you had a gun you were arrested.  And often well beaten.  And this was OUR OWN MILITARY!  Don't be a fool and think you'll be excepted for some stupid reason.  I watched those searches (in video, not in person), they were pretty thorough!  You'd better have a GOOOOD hidey hole!  And your gun safe AIN'T IT!    Won't open it?  They arrest you and blow it open later at their convenience.

If it does go that far, you might just as well pick up your best piece and start blasting when they ring the bell. You'll have little to lose because you will have already lost it. We're not seeing mass violent riots across the country. There are small pockets of gang thugs that run around beating and stealing because nobody is smacking them with a nightstick. (Thank you ACLU ) The people in and near those incidents are in mortal danger but the country as a whole goes on about it's business.

Who in their right mind would bail out 14 trillion+ in debt so the US can continue deficit spending, even if they could?

Pretty easy to do in a mostly evacuated ciity that just had a Cat 5 hurricane go through it.
