I have not heard all the oratory yet. But this reasonable restriction thing is really bugging me.. You guys and gals, the 3 M's are doing a GREAT JOB!  Definitely top drawer. Where  else would we hear what is happening,  NOW!!!!!   I think reasonable restriction can be taken too far, and would be taken too far. The individual right seems to be coming along OK, but if it allows the states  or local governments to restrict  us, what have  We gained? Just they can't take all our guns  away... Interesting times.
I look forward to any comments. I'm not disheartened, just not happy, yet. This is the most important  thing that has happened in the shooting world in history. By shooting world I do mean shooters, We are a world unto our selves, shooting is a way of life, it infuses us. I love and live to shoot, competition, hunting, range  time to figure out new handloads to make my gun more accurate, more reliable etc.... Everything  about our craft enthuses me. Gunsmithing is one of my hobbies and skills, I don't take likely. Delivering a rifle or pistol that is better than it was before it was given to me is very satisfying..... We cannot predict what the SCOTUS  will do, things do look better, but not  what we hoped as I see it. I do have my chin up...

May we not live in interesting times.

I have to agree operator.
What was really accomplished,  I would think someone would have stated how ridiculous the whole thing is.  Is it so hard to stand up and say this is a RIGHT NOT TO BE INFRINGED.  I understand that this is a delicate matter, but I am a simple man.  Throughout time governments have taken away the right of the people to defends themselves,  isnt this why we came to America?  Isnt this why they put it 2nd on the list.  It seems to me that if the men who wrote the Consitution were here today they would be kicking someones *ss

I dont mean to be negative, I listened to the discussion and it seemed like we came out on top, and I am deffinatly not complaining about that.

Thank you team M3, outstanding job today and every other day!!!

Here's a quote we need to remember when we talk about what is 'arms' and who gets to keep them and whether we (Citizens) should have the EXACT same arms as the miltary.

Pennsylvania Gazette, Feb. 20, 1788: " Every terrible instrument of the soldier is the birthright of an American.  The unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or state governments, but where I trust it will ever remain, in the hands of the people." - Tench Coxe, Continental Congress

You wont hear that on the MSM.

Supreme Court Hears “The Threshold Question”
By Jim Shepherd
Mar 19, 2008 - 12:33:06 AM

I didn't want to copy the whole article. Just thought this part was perfectly timed..

That fact wasn’t lost on Dick Heller, the named defendant in the case.

Speaking with him on the Supreme Court steps after the arguments -and his long question-and-answer period with the media, I asked him how he felt about “his” lawsuit.

“It’s a simple case to me,” Heller said, “It is wrong for the government to tell me that it is OK for me to have a gun during my work hours, but illegal for me to have a gun when the only thing I want to protect is me.”

At that point, a reporter interjected: “the Mayor (DC Mayor Adrian M. Fenty) says the handgun ban and his initiatives have significantly lowered violent crime in the District. How do you answer that, Mr. Heller?”

The initial answer certainly wasn’t expected – Dick Heller laughed. Ruefully.

Pointing at the Mayor who was making his way across the plaza, surrounded by at least six DC police officers, Heller said, “the Mayor doesn’t know what he’s talking about.”

“He doesn’t walk on the street like an average citizen. Look at him; he travels with an army of police officers as bodyguards – to keep him safe. But he says that I don’t have the right to be a force of one to protect myself. Does he look like he thinks the streets are safe?”

There was no follow-up question.
