I just put up my sign.


That is a special purpose sign appropriate for a disaster situation.  Good for posting during the crisis in your front yard.

For everyday use I prefer a les "in your face" approach.     I need to get some window stickers:

Some go way overboard, some get it right,....their plan is than analyzed by an "expert"....and evaluated.

I've been through some pretty bad hurricanes,....got a nice wave forming "could be Emily" by next week,....

Yes, I caught that show the other night. Didn't the bulk salesman make a comment about one guy who had bought something like 45,000 lbs of wheat from him?

I have no stockpiles for a SHTF scenario.  No food, no water, no weapons, no ammo.  Just move along to the next house nothing to see here.  ;D

I'm going to throw this out here, just to stir the pot.

Too often when talking about preparations (not so much on this forum, but other places, TV especially) People get so wrapped up in acquiring "stuff" and no one talks about the greatest asset you have. The gray matter between your ears. Sure I have made preparations, and I have some goodies stashed away. But I have focused more of my resources on learning how to survive. I don't like the idea of being stuck in one spot. I want to be able to be mobile if need be, but have the skills to stay put also. I think of it more like S.E.R.E. training on a whole other level. Because I believe that if/when TSHTF you WILL be behind enemy lines. The scariest part will be figuring out who the enemies are. People will be scared, and trying to take care of their own. Most likely they will be looking at EVERYONE as a potential threat. Plus you will have a lot of people who will take the simple philosophy that anyone is a threat to them, and they will shoot first, and just forget about asking questions.
