In general I agree with Bill.
I will however (surprise

) pick some minor nits.
1st, judging by my flashlights the LED bulbs actually are better than incandescent, or them damn CFL's.
I will grant that the price of the bulbs would seem to offset any potential saving on the electric bill.
2nd, I have often argued that while Solar, and wind power may not be ready to replace coal, oil, and Nuclear as the commercial source of power, where it comes into its own are in cutting the need for imported oil, and even more importantly decentralizing the electric grid.
Neither of those observations changes the fact that BO is not only a crook, funneling funds to his cronies, he is an idiot about the methods he chooses.
As a side note I will point out that research into Electric cars is a waste of time and money.
This is not opinion, it is a historically verifiable fact.
One needs only look at the history of the Automobile to see the proof.
When auto makers began making the first cars they were nothing but expensive, unreliable, status symbols for the wealthy that were only of interest to a small market.
It was not until the development of the truck that they began to take off having achieved a level of utility that made them practical to more than an elite few.
In the same way electric vehicles will not be a practical investment until they achieve the power levels and endurance to make them practical for light and heavy commercial use.
