It doesn't matter who ultimately did it. It will be someone who is a NRA member who was found to have a large "arsenal" of six guns in their home and was a member of the Tea Party. I hate to be cynical at this hour, but we have been through too much not to expect some bullsh!t like this.

Since I live here, it's been live coverage for the last five hours.  Pre-empting local programming on all stations.

What has been reported thus far;

2 dead one of which was an 8 year old child, 100+ injured with multiple amputations reported from local hospitals around Boston.

2 additional devices located, nothing further to report.

The fire at the JFK library was unrelated as reported by the BPD and FBI.

I watched the explosions multiple times since about 3:30.  The first was directly across from the main grandstand that had families from the Sandy Hook incident.  Not known how many may have stayed since the race winners were already through at 2:30.  Another blast can be seen on the video about 100 yards further up the street.

There are no news crews allowed in the area at the moment!

Not to make light of this but 2 things come to mind, 1st, this is Boston, from the facts so far it could be the last of the IRA .
The 2nd is this,
"The first was directly across from the main grandstand that had families from the Sandy Hook incident."

How bad does your luck have to be ?

Or a Muslim meter maid as someone suggested and it becomes another "work place violence" incident.

Tom I rarely side with you. Lol Jk. But the New York Post is blasting 12 dead. No one else is even close to that number. But everyone else may be wrong. Btw I have been in the Boston Globe website as much as possible. Just figured everyone else knows the same info so I didn't start the topic off with "facts". I was just waiting to get blamed and have my 2 mins of screw you to the liberals. It's not the guns. But that moment is fading fast with the more right wing wako stuff coming out.

Bloomberg is an ass clown why do people put stock into what he says. He could say the bomb was detonated by an AR and people would believe him.

Are you old enough to remember the Charlie Foxtrot after the Atlanta Olympic Games ?
They had , of course, all kinds of extra security, the first guy they arrested was the 1st security guard to spot the bomb.
He had "material similar to what was used in the bomb".
Turned out what he had was duct tape.
He spent a couple months in jail the sued the ever living snot out of everyone in sight.
They never had a clue about the real bomber until Eric Rudolph was identified in an abortion bombing.

Firstly condolences to all the families of those that was killed or maimed in this cowardly attack.

Secondly you know the government will use this as a further excuse to take away law abiding peoples rights to make it "safer" for all.
TSA will be grinning from ear to ear, home land security will be crawling up congresses ass for more funding and dimwit politicians will be thinking of new laws to pass not because they have to, but because they can.

And the security guard to whom you are referring is Richard Jewell: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Jewell

Body count is now up to 3. Ft. Hood was, "Workplace Violence" because a Muslim did it. I guess if another one turns up connected to this, it will become an act of, "Recreational Violence".   ::)

condolences to all the families  and everyone involved

I however am sickened  by the coverage that news.com.au  and a few others here in Aust.

there are pics that just did not need to be posted,   how about a little respect for the victims

not that i can not look at them  ( i seen a lot worse and dose not fuss me )   it is the blatant disregard for everyone :(  that is what really pissed me off about it

and no i not posting links    however when the title on the frontage is  "THIS IS THE CARNAGE THE BASTARDS LEFT BEHIND" with a photo of the seen just after it happened   very disappointing
Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. The only thing you can’t do is ignore them

Richard Jewell sued the New York Post for 15 million. I guess the 12 dead story really is BS. Those guys sure love a bombing don't they.

And Phil the wonderful, liberal, Obama loving, Huffington Post has pics all over their website of a guy with no legs in a wheelchair getting pushed by first responders and multiple other blood strewn pics. I can't believe it. Like they want to show the world a guy with legs blown off. Like its art. f..k them for that. Excuse my language.
Did we win???

There's a hole in your theory FQ.  True terrorists don't actually care about body count unless it increases visibility.  If the devices go off when the winners show up there's plenty of news crews/visibility.

They would never bomb the winners.  The winners are inevitably going to be Kenyans and they certainly wouldn't want to hurt anyone from Obammy's home country.
Bravery and stupidity are often synonymous.  So are cowardice and intelligence.

"We Americans have been a rebellious band of freedom loving vagabonds from the very beginning. Our freedom from the crown and tyranny would not exist had it not been for the gun. That's a tradition we like to hold on to.  The same can't be said for the rest of you 'Subjects of the Queen'."--said to a Canadian friend who just doesn't get it.

No official word yet, but they searched an apartment in Revere last night and still seem to be focused on the Saudi Arabian student.
