Wow! Strong bias against the Glock.

The article on the Glock praised the G34 and said as a carry gun would be a winner.

The Glock 19 is the lightest pistol on this page. If our top 25 list was for carry guns, the Glock 19 could be the winner. The Glock has a low and strange brick feel, even though performance is very good. Glock has a reputation for durability, plus replacement parts are cheap. This is one of the most popular police carry guns. Glock does have a cult following, and ranking it #14 will upset many. If you want a Glock range champion, spend the extra money for the awesome G34. We owe Glock many thanks for giving us confidence in polymer framed pistols.

Don't want you and Hawkfish to get too down ericire, consider it this way,... The other manufacturers stepped up after the "G" gun came out. They (Glock) raised the bar and other manufacturers got smart and caught up. Parts for Glock "used" to be expensive, but as with any free market, competition came in and benefits all of us with more than one great reliable 9mm platform.

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

Contacted SR, they said the new and improved SR9 should be available in July.

Considering the P85, P85 MkII, and P89 (now discontinued), may be one more SR9 before they get it right. ;)

Don't do it!! In November you'll be waiting for your recall box and looking forward to your free Ruger cap or silicone cloth or something.

My SR9 has never had a gritty pull.  A bit heavy, maybe (no way to measure), but smooth.  Trigger breaks cleanly, and the reset is fairly short and positive...not spongy like the M&P9 I've tried.

After firing several Glock models, S&W Sigma series 9mm and .40  M&P series .40, Taurus 24/7 and a few Kimbers I don't have one bad thing to say about the SR9 trigger. Hell half of those guns look as if the trigers could be snapped off if pulled too hard.

Other than the bullshit recall Ruger has graced us with anyone who complains about the SR9 will complain abou anything they don't own.

Saw a post elsewhere from someone who says they got their SR9 back from Ruger w/ the recall work:

1) Poster's entire slide was replaced.
2) Free mag may have had a yellow follower (post was a little vague)

And the slightly disturbing bit...

3) The trigger is now a Glock/XD-type trigger, with the little safety thingie on it.

I have yet to see any other reports from people getting their post-recall SR9 back, so I can't verify if this report on the new trigger is true.  No pics were offered, and there was also no report on how the new trigger performed.

Some fuzzy photos were posted on the Ruger forum this morning and it does indeed look like the trigger safety found on other striker fired polymer handguns.  That disappoints me but I'll have to hold final judgment until I see how it performs.

That is, if I ever get a fricking box.

I'm with you on the "If I ever get a friggin' box"...
It's just plain disappointing...
I may just wait until it's all repaired and trade it in on something else, just so I don't own it anymore.
Now if I could just talk my wife into selling her GP-161 in protest...
Naw, it'll never happen.
