Mercury still gets to be a planet though.  Car didn't make it.

I think models are made of styrene. If they are it must be like putting gasoline in a styrofoam cup. It melts into a mess stickier than napalm.

Actually if you mix Styrofoam with gasoline you'll get a "snotty" version of NAPALM that works pretty well. We used to make it when we were kids. We would take a old 5 gallon grease pail, (they were metal back then), and fill it up with broken pieces of Styrofoam packing. Then stir in small amounts of gasoline until it had the right consistency. (Like thick, runny snot). It even smelled nice when the gasoline was leaded back in the day. The stuff would burn something furious. It was great for starting campfires.

Something to remember when it comes time to start throwing molotov cocktails.
Which reminds me, do you realize the shift from glass bottles to plastic and metal cans violates our 2nd Amendment rights ?

When I was a teenager a druggist's son our age taught us to make napalm warming gasoline and adding Tide laundry detergent.

We warmed the gasoline on a electric burner at low with a pot of water on it.  In the water on a support we placed our bowl of gasoline and stirred in the Tide.

We worked to get it to a jelly..maybe jam... like consistence because that seemed to "cling" best.

Was a pain trying to use a spoon to fill a coke bottle.

Only did one "Live" run against a picnic shelter in the local city woods....and decided to leave this to older fools when the roof burnt off it.

Amazing we lived through some of this...

Actually Solus, that's the way DuPont made it.

Actually Solus, that's the way DuPont made it.

Kid said only Tide would work.  Was that accurate?  I guess it might have been all that was available over the counter.

Two other rules were NO OPEN FLAME ( which I found wise) and make it like jelly...which worked for us.

And then DuPont steals our recipe  ;D

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Napalm

"Napalm" is a combination of the names of two of the constituents of the thickening/gelling agent: co-precipitated aluminium salts of naphthenic and palmitic acids......

No information on specifics .
