I finally took the AA flashlight with a high power lithium battery (page 6 of this thread) off the wall by the kitchen door, and put it above the basement light switch. You have to open the basement door and reach in 15" past the door jamb, and down below waist height, to 32" high to hit the switch. All the fumbling around for a switch that's over a foot from where it should be, keeps the wall dirty. At least now, I can grope around at waist height to find the flashlight and run my hand down it to the switch. It's a lot easier to find now. And when the kitchen light is on, the black bracket and flashlight are super easy to see. I left a little room between the bracket and switch plate so It doesn't interfere with removing it if I have to.
The main reason for moving that flashlight was so I could stick an L stand on the wall and hang my limited edition 3,000 lumen Seeker 2 from it. It's supposed to shine 220 meters, 722 feet, and my back yard is probably 15 1/4 meters, 50 feet, I can't remember. It's 3 LEDs and 12,100 candela sure light things up. I put the top of the L stand where the top of the old plastic bracket was, and covered one of the screw holes with it. The flashlight is in front of the other hole. I may or may not spackle it at some point. Because of the size of the flashlight and thickness of the pocket clip, it sets in place better with the button against the wall and the clip facing out. Otherwise, it's hanging right out to where the end of the L stand curves down to keep it from having a flat edge perpendicular to the wall. The 21700 battery allows it to run on Low, 50 Lumens, for 72 Hours. that's 8 hours per night for 9 days, and still has a 29 meter, 95 foot, throw.
When the basement wall flashlight bites the dust, I'll probablt put another L stand there and hang my 1,750 lumen Warrior Mini 2 from it.
