I used to go to Japan frequently for business. Magnavox Marine Electronics had an arrangement with a Japanese company to manufacture for the local market, and I was the marketing manager for that part of the world. I always enjoyed those trips--mainly because I didn't have to personally pay for meals or hotel accommodations. I would be very happy to visit again if I could afford it. Absolutely love the food.
I left California for a better job, and have never looked back.
Bunny and I just did a road trip on Route 66. For those who don't know, Route 66 starts in Chicago and ends in Santa Monica, California. I refuse to go into Chicago, so our trip started at the Illinois border. And I won't patronize anything in California, so our trip ended at the California border.
For those who travel, you might consider a similar rule. Don't go to places or spend your money where your rights are not respected and where the government flat out hates you.
