Remington Golden Bullet Bucket-o-Bullets .22LR 36gr HP 1400 ct Bucket $10 Off, $89.98 at Freedom Munitions until tomorrow or as long as they last. Other stuff on sale too, but I just bought one of these buckets. My Trek-22 Rifle is supposed to be on its way to my FFL now, so it seemed like a good time for more ammo.

https://freedommunitions.com/collections/sale?sort_by=price-ascending&filter.v.price.gte=&filter.v.price.lte=

$0.064 per round!!!

I remember buying 22lr for $0.50 per box and crying when the price went up to $0.60.

I shot up the last of my Winchester Wildcat, that I got on sale for 99 cents a box circa 1994. But I have a $10.99 brick of Peters ammo, and 2 500 round boxes of Winchester Xpert hollowpoints for $9.99. The Xpert is 12 bucks per 100 rounds now. And the Peters ammo listed for $42.50 at one place that USED to have it. I have to use ammo that's not TOO waxy and sticky in my 110-round 10/22 drum, but for my other mags, I have 2,000+ rounds of bulk ammo from Detroit Ammo Co. Most .22 ammo is 4-6 times the price I got used to paying for it, 2 cents a pop, so ~6.4 cents a round didn't seem that bad. It's "only" 3 times as expensive as it used to be. Too bad I bought precious metals instead of investing in lead and copper futures.

I like that old Peters box in the pick....that's certainly a throwback.
I have a box of Peters 30-06 Accelerators that a friend gave me after his dad died. We had all shot together for years and his dad was my 'reloading mentor' when I got started. My friend was cleaning out the old reloading room and ran across several boxes.

Yes, good memories from that pic. My first box of ammo was by Peters in .410.

I like the retro-style Peters .22 box, but I really like the Accelerator box. I didn't even know they sold those in the Peters brand. They shot a 55 grain JSP at 4,080 fps with 2,003 ftâ‹…lbs of energy in .30-06. 8)  That's higher velocity and energy than a .22-250 Remington or .220 Swift with a 55 grain bullet. Where the bullet was going to hit was anyone's guess, but if you zeroed in with them, they would make varmints explode when hit.
