I spent the first 39 years of my life in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, then in '03 I moved to AR just outside of Memphis, TN.
It was quite a culture shock, particularly in regards to the difference in firearm regs between the two states. Having spent most of my life in gun hating IL, I thought all those restrictions were normal and proper. Since I've lived in AR my opinion has changed greatly, and I now believe that the IL way is the WRONG way, particularly in Chicago. I never really understood what the Second Ammendment was for, and why it was so important to our freedom. Then again, that's not surprising, because there was no way it was going to be taught in the IL public school system.
However, now I FULLY realize it's importance and will do everything in my power to make sure our firearm rights aren't taken away any more than they already have been.
