Marshal is a coffee freak!
I admit.. I buy flavored beans for him.
http://www.coffeeandteawarehouse.com/index.cfm?method=products.showList&productcategoryid=31
This brand is awesome... I usually buy 10  bags of different kinds each order..
They are dripping with oil when I grind them.. ( fresh every morning, of course)
Marshal's favorite is Hazelnut Creme and Butter Rum and  Amaretto..and ..and.. and....  ;D ;D
He says that this brand of coffee has the best flavors he has ever had..

He drinks LOTS of strong strong strong coffee every day. I make him his evening coffee and it consists of some cappuccino powder, real cream.. mix that up real good.. then add hot coffee and then some of the spray whipped cream on top..
 I know.. I spoil him...  :)
But he is sooo worth it....

Did anyone else notice that too?

Nice!! Now we're talkin!!  How do you like the Technivorm?

Love the Technivorn.  Little bit more involved in making coffee but worth the effort.  Next in line is the KitchenAid coffeemaker.  Right now I have about 50Lbs of green coffee waiting to be roasted.  Hint, if the coffee beans are dripping with oil, they are over roasted, read almost burnt.  At that point, most coffees will have lost their natural flavor.  Each coffee bean is different, some better at light roast, some better at darker.  I generally roast mine to before oil starts coming out.  Beans will "crack" twice while roasting, I normally stop between 1st and 2nd crack.  It is easy to roast and you can make it as cheap or as expensive as you want.  Go to www.greencoffee.coop and www. sweetmarias.com, excellent info on coffees and roasting.

I'm pretty basic - Just get me a can at the grocery store, make it strong and hot, and no flavors.  Fresh ground is something I enjoy, but don't mess with.  And, my favorite is boiled egg coffee from fresh ground.  However, tomorrow morning it will be Folgers through the drip machine to get me going.

My doctor doesn't mess around on here so I can really admit that my favorite breakfast is started with the coffee, start frying some bacon in the skillet, slice up a potatoe in thin sticks and throw it in the bacon grease, slice up an onion and through that on the potato, as the taters are near done you push them all to one side and put the bacon on top, then put some eggs in to fry.  That, a couple slices of toast and hot egg coffee and I'm ready for the day  ;D

Ingredients:
1 egg
1 cup cold water, divided
1 cup regular grind coffee
6 cups boiling water

Directions:
Use a graniteware coffee pot. Wash egg; break it; reserve shell and beat slightly. Add 1/2 cup cold water and the 1 cup coffee. Add crushed egg shell. Mix thoroughly. Turn into coffee pot; pour on boiling water, and stir. The spout of the pot shoul be stuffed with soft paper to prevent escape of the fragrant aroma. Place on front of range and boil 3 minutes. If not boiled, coffee is cloudy. If boiled too long, too much tannic acid is developed. Add remaining 1/2 cup cold water; which perfects clearing. Cold water, which is heavier than hot, sinks to the bottom and carries the grounds with it. Serve at once.

Don't ask why.....it's a midwest thing.....I think...
