Quality on the MTAC is top notch.  It is adjustable on retention by two allen screws, and the kydex can be changed out to fit other handguns instead of buying a whole new holster.  It stays in place very well as i use a good 1.5" belt to hold it.  Please excuse the beer gut in the pictures...

Thanks for the link CDR. It's just what I was looking for. Do you perfer the Instructor belt or the Frequent Flyer/Ring Belt?

I have the Titanium Instructor's belt and love it.  It works in airports as well as the titanium buckle has never set off any of the metal detectors I've walked through, so I never had a need for the Frequent Flyer model.  I routinely carry a full size 1911 with either this belt or a Milt Sparks and both do the job equally as well.

Thanks Walkeraviator for the photos of the MTAC in use. Looks like a nice setup I'll have to consider.
And thanks to CDR for the feedback on the belt. I'm not really in airports often so I think I'll go for the regular Instructor belt.

Erebus,

Sorry for the delay... in the future, anyone wanting to get a question to me, please use the Defense or TBD forums (as appropriate) or PM me... I don't check the other forums regularly!

I think the best IWB holster for your pistol is the Blade-Tech kydex. They are thin, durable and secure. I have several, the one that I use with my Glocks (23, 27, 19, etc) is over 12 years old and still going strong.

Sorry for my delay too Mr. Pincus. Life has been busy recently. Thanks for the advice. I have made the decision to get the Blade-Tech. I guess my only other question is which model...The IWB with loops or The Ultimate Concealment? Also, just wanna say, I really enjoy watching your segments on TBD.

Yet another sorry for the delay! I dread looking at the computer each AM...

I'm gonna side with Rob on Blade-tech...not quite as comfortable as leather, but not a big deal — especially in a short-slide gun like a G19. I have a G19 and a Blade-tech.

The best IWB holsters ever were made by the great Lou Alessi, and he has Left The Building.

Didn't you mention on a podcast that some one was still producing Alessi designs ?
Was it Andy L. ?

After re-reading the thread and seeing the earlier responses regarding the belt, I would throw Liger belts into the mix. I've been wearing them constantly for several years now... even had several dozen made up with the company logo at one time for retail sale. Very comfortable, almost indestructible and vertically VERY sturdy to support all kinds of gear.

I like that belt a lot.  Anyone try the CompTac belts with kydex inside?
