Good Point !!    I Agree.....  There is a HUGE difference between comparing Glock, Browning, Sig, Taurus or any other foreign company to this stuff.

Sig is NOT a foreign company. The Exeter NH factory bought out the parent Swiss company a couple years ago, Browning, headquartered in Ogden Utah, is only foreign if you think the Mormons are still independent ,  Taurus and Glock, while foreign owned both have plants in the US.

"The Swiss Industrial Group (SIG) sold SIGARMS® in October 2000, to Michael Lüke and Thomas Ortmeier, two German entrepreneurs. Mr. Lüke and Mr. Ortmeier, both successful in the industrial textile industry, were looking to expand into new business sectors. Their new ownership has provided SIG SAUER with a renewed sense of pride and ownership that is reflected in our commitment to our customers, suppliers and shareholders."

According to their web site, it is a German Owned company.  Sorry Tom.

SIG SAUER® world renowned firearms are the weapons of choice for many of the premier global military, law enforcement and commercial users. High quality, ultimate reliability and unmatched performance have always been hallmarks of the SIG SAUER brand. In the USA, nearly 1 in 3 law enforcement professionals use SIG SAUER firearms. “We are proud that many elite military and government forces including the U.S. Navy Seals, the Federal Air Marshals, the Department of Homeland Security and the U. S. Coast Guard carry SIG SAUER firearms”, said Ron Cohen, President and CEO of SIG SAUER.

Headquartered in Exeter, New Hampshire, SIG SAUER is an ISO 9001 certified company with over 280 employees. It is the largest member of a worldwide business group of firearms manufacturers that includes J.P. Sauer & Sohn and Blaser, Gmbh. in Germany and Swiss Arms AG in Switzerland. This global network of companies gives SIG SAUER a world-class firearms knowledge base, unparalleled design expertise, and extensive manufacturing capacity, enabling the company to respond quickly and effectively to changing market conditions and the needs of its military, law enforcement, and commercial markets worldwide.

Besides importing the SIG Sauer line of pistols, SIGARMS offered customer service from highly qualified gunsmiths in the reputable service department and state-of-the-art training at a separate training facility on 128 acres in Epping, New Hampshire. SIGARMS continued to expand its firearm lines with the Sauer rifle line and the Hämmerli line of target pistols and rifles. In 1998, SIGARMS brought in the first shotgun line designed specifically for SIGARMS by B. Rizzini of Italy. The next year, the revolutionary Blaser R93 rifle line from Isny, Germany, was distributed nationwide through SIGARMS.

In 2001, SIGARMS, Inc. continued to expand its role in the firearms market with new contracts in the law enforcement market as well as new products for the civilian market. The SIGARMS Training Academy has added many new courses at its Epping, New Hampshire location for both civilian and law enforcement personnel. Besides a new apparel line and efforts to reach a broader market, SIGARMS will continue its role in educating people in the safety and use of firearms, while offering to the public the highest quality products and services found in the firearms industry.

On October 1, 2007 SIGARMS changed its name to SIG SAUER®. The change reflects the vast worldwide growth in demand for SIG SAUER products. In response, the company has more than tripled its work force in the past 30 months, invested 18 million US dollars in state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities and equipment, and significantly expanded its engineering base. The name change, coupled with major new product introductions in pistols and rifles, reflects the continued commitment to the high standards of production, service and innovation the SIG SAUER brand has always represented.

Today, SIG SAUER is an ISO 9001 certified company with over 280 employees.

I'm not knocking QUALITY foreign made products that are proven, like the firearms companies we mentioned above, I'm
just saying that there is a HUGE difference between QUALITY and JUNK, either foreign or domestic. I'm a fan of both foreign and domestic QUALITY firearms. Someone had lumped everything into EITHER foreign OR domestic. I would say you could do a lot better than middle east produced ammo. (I would certainly hope so anyway).

Sig pistols and their AR are American made by American workers. I've toured the shop and had friends who worked there

Sig pistols and their AR are American made by American workers. I've toured the shop and had friends who worked there

My Sig556 is stamped Exeter, NH.  Even my new "G" gun has New Smyrna, GA. on it.  I don't want to get in a "pissing contest" over all the GREAT firearms listed in previous posts...and where their designed vs. where their built.

Your GM, Ford, Dodge trucks, have electrical harnesses that say Hencho en Mexico,...  Volvo marine engines are the utmost in international components. It's a Ford block, with Swedish Technology, Japanese harnesses, assembled in Mexico, and sold in the US.

Back to the OP,  foreign ammo works for some, and not for others,...I don't shoot Wolf in my 5.56, it sucks. Everything else works all day... For others, the Wolf, Prvi-Partizan, Bear, S&B, whatever,.... ,may work flawlessly.. Great... Keep Rockin.

I have tried them, and stick with what works, which is the old standby American ammo.  Although Norma makes THE 7.65x54 Mauser round... it's also $40.00 for 20 rds...

I have Milsurp non-berdan primed 187gr BTFMJ for the same rifle manufactured in 1981, it has yet to "F' up for me, and punches clean holes in 1/4" metal plate.

So it goes,.... If it works use it, Col. Jeff Cooper loved S. African ball ammo when it was a dime a dozen... and advised us to stock up. I agree with the Col.

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
Col. Jeff Cooper.

Back in line with the original topic, my uncle once told me, "Go ahead, shoot the cheaper corrosive stuff in the Garand. Just make sure to finish your day by putting a box or two of the good stuff through it clear out the corrosive."

Being as it was his Garand I was shooting, I didn't have an issue with that advice.

I've always meant to ask here if it was good advice, or wishful thinking.
Anti: I think some of you gentleman would choose to apply a gun shaped remedy to any problem or potential problem that presented itself? Your reverance (sic) for firearms is maintained with an almost religious zeal. The mind boggles! it really does...

Me: Naw, we just apply a gun-shaped remedy to those extreme life threatening situations that call for it. All the less urgent problems we're willing to discuss.
