They make specialized and expensive guns and parts.  I don't see a connection to the bubble, just high end.

Yep.... thats why they are the first to be affected..... gun makers will be next...... then ammo manufacturers. The boom is over.

Not only high end but they JUST jumped on the band wagon. I think Daniel's waited just a bit to long, I think Ruger caught the end of the bubble, though that remains to be seen.

I'm not ready to say the bubble has burst yet.  With economics like they are there is going to be a shifting in buying and choices.  However, when you talk to dealer and big box idiots you hear that the sales are still up.  I am hearing more thought going into things rather than just taking what is available ... and this is a good thing.

I believe that as things improve, whenever they improve, and as more of the true BHO/Pelosi/Clinton regim shows itself sales will increase again.

The answer to things flowing again is that just as one company increases deliveries another runs short, and these improved supplies are very short lived.  Scheels HAD a tremendous amount of ammo on hand last month, and their gun sales people that love to bash gun owners bragged about how the hoarders ran out of money and now we'll have too much ammo on the shelves.  Guess what ... two weeks later that "glut" was mostly gone, and they don't know when they will see anymore.  They were up on the list for a large shipment, it came through, and now they are back on the bottom of the pile.

Just like the DC mess, This ain't over yet!

IMHO, the ammo shortages are affecting gun sales. As ammo supplies get back to normal, I believe that gun sales will go back up. The newbies to the shooting world figure; "why buy a gun if I can't get ammo?"

Sales to first time buyers were a large part of the increased sales following BHOs election. I have heard several potential buyers complain about the ammo shortage and state that it is putting off their decision to buy.

Just a thought.

You make a valid point.  I passed on a 1911 a couple of months ago and bought a .40 instead, simply because at that point in time I wasn't prepared to spend $700 for a paperweight.

Glut over or not, where the heck are all the guns sold hiding?  In MI I rarely saw any more people at the ranges than there were years ago.  Indoor or outdoor.  DNR guys told me hunting license sales only climbed very slightly.  I saw even less people actually going each year.  ???

Drop a grand on a semi-auto, hoard a couple thousand rounds of ammo, and???  Hide it all under the bed to rust up and never to see light of day again?   :( :( :(

I'm not going to the range any more than I used to, and most people don't notice a change in what I take or don't take ... Can you acount for the guns I've purchased.  When I take a new shooter to the range and we take four guns ... Are they mine that I always bring, his new ones, a combination or new guns to me?

By the way, I do think that many of the new first time buyers do have their guns just sitting in the closet collecting dust.

I walked into the local Mom & Pop gun store last week, and stopped short - the AR rack was full to overflowing, and the AK rack had all sorts of really interesting pieces. So, yeah, I think the glut is over. That and the $100 stripped lowers that are being advertised.
