A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to try out an X D that Springfield had built for one of their professional shooters.  The trigger that they were able to put on this gun was every bit as good as most 1911’s.   I thought these were good guns even before Springfield started importing them I wish I had bought one when the retail with 329.00.
Who is the maker of the Springfield import? Are they making any nice inexpensive pistols of their own?

If you own an xd, you can't beat this deal on extra mags. Three mags and a mag holder for 33 bucks! they are back ordered, but its worth the wait. took about a month to get mine.

HS - a Croatian company, and I believe it's the only pistol they make across the pond, but someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Some days, I'm all about the sleek new polymer pistols, but days like today, it's all Thumb-busters with five beans in the wheel and my buryin' money under the hammer.

You just need at least one of each. Then you can start duplicating and compare one against the other!

Jaybethal;

That, of course, is my theory! I would hate to be pinned down on one gun, or even one type of gun. My friend Charles Riggs, one of the original GUNSITE rats, now carries an XD and loves it.

Actually XD 3" barrel is on my short list-  (HAHAHA- get it?)
Because of money though, I'm going to have to choose between XD and a snubbie. Then it gets down to, well, do I REALLY have to have a 44 or can it be 357? Oh, and I guess I'm going used, looking for that GREAT buy instead of my usual, which is, "I want it, I charge it"!
Same old problems- No Gotz gun, No Gotz money.

Here is a link that talks about H. S. in Croatia.  They apparently make a few other guns

I'm pretty sure they make an XD357 compact with a 3" barrel.  With a full magazine barrel sleeve, it looks comfy.

Sure, it's splitting the hairs, but I'm that type of guy.  ;)

Bidah,

What is the over all length you load the SWCs to? I'd still like to find an SWC load that I can use in all my .45s.

Well I can't get you a length since I am not at home to measure it.  The bullet that I was using is no longer made, and I find every one from a different manufacturer is slightly different.  What I do is take a few and keep working it down until it will feed and lockup by hand, take it down a little bit more, around .002, and then load up 10 and shoot them to function check.  Then I load up 100, and try that.

I won't be home until next week.
