Make things really interesting and mix aluminum or magnesium dust with it !
Dow packaged in bombs and called it "Napalm", they package it still in cans and call it "Sterno".

Tom B. got me thinking of home made Sterno and I found a link with this recipe.  It seems a lot saner than heating gasoline and I might try this at home  :D. The Diesel is not as volatile as gasoline or alcohol, so maybe it will have a long shelf life....reports say regular Sterno can last 7+ years when well sealed.  I've never purchased Diesel fuel, so am not sure how to find (clear#1 grade). Any help will be appreciated.

Making sterno fuel (AKA napalm)
One day, about 3 years  ago i wanted to create some homemade Sterno fuel, basically a gel that is flammable. i did several Google searches and finally found a recipe for some great stuff.
take 1 cup of Diesel (clear #1 grade), and 1/2 cup of paraffin wax. heat the wax so that it is well melted. continuously stir the diesel as you pour the melted wax it to the diesel. continue to stir for about 20 seconds after all the wax has been added. allow the mixture to cool. it will harden to a jello substance. scoop a dab onto a stick and light it on fire! this stuff is great for starting fires at home or when camping.

You know, it's so much simpler and safer to just put away a case of Sterno.   Not much more expensive if you get it from a wholesale place either.

I doubt store bought Sterno has Diesel or a fuel oil base to it. Sterno is used indoors for heating those catering and buffet pans you see at parties and such. If they contained Diesel they would smoke and stink like hell. I think, (I say "think" because I'm not sure), commercial Sterno uses some type of alcohol blend that burns smoke free and odorless. If you tried to make homemade NAPALM with Kerosene or Diesel, I don't think it would attack and melt the Styrofoam, because Diesel and Kerosene doesn't attack plastic the way gasoline does.

K-1 grade Kerosene will burn far cleaner than Diesel because it has far less Paraffin in it. K-1 Kerosene is also the base product for Jet-A jet fuel. They changed the formula from JP-4 to help reduce jet engines smoking at full power settings.

Actually Sterno is made with Naptha.

I'll buy that. Naptha burns really clean. Especially compared to Diesel.

Sterno is jellied denatured alcohol.
