Not that it makes it any easier, but it sounds like many experiences I hear of treatments.

Hang in there, we're with you the best we can be!

Spoke to the Nurse Wife, and the Nuetrophills will get higher with Nulasta. she should also be getting Kefir. Those yogurt/milkshake concoctions from the grocery/health food store. Very high in protein, and will calm the stomach.

Amy needs to be careful out in public as she is immuno-suppressed. Spinach, spinach, spinach.. Washed very well.

Keep everything clean around her.

My wife also complained of an odd almost painful feeling as her hair was coming out. Finally got the GI Jane and got it over with.
She got some "do" rags, and looked like a gypsy for a while. No big deal.

IT GROWS BACK! Not to worry.

Chemo is tough on even the good parts of the body, dental care is really important also.

As others said, we're with you. In prayers and thoughts.  You both hang in there!

God Bless you Both.

TW

You and Amy hang in there.

Keep hanging in there.

Has Amy considered donating her hair to "Locks of Love" or some such group before loosing all her hair? Some chemo recipients choose to go this route, helps them take back some of the control they feel they are losing. Not you though, nobody wants your beard.  ;D

Howdy Chuck,

I've been away for a few days and I just got to this thread. I continue to keep you and Amy in my prayers and you are still on the prayer list at our church.

I understand about immunosupression (I have multiple autoimmune disorders and as a result I am very highly immunosupressed.....as much as anyone can be and my multiple immunosupressants are being administered experimentally. I also take a chemo agent).

I agree with the mask usage, however I did not notice anyone mentioning hand washing. Hand washing is even more important, as most problems are transmitted by contact, rather than being airborne. Keep household surfaces clean with disinfectant wipes. Keep Purell handy for use after Amy comes in contact with public surfaces. Open doors for her and use Purell yourself after your contact with public surfaces. Hang in there and be cautious but not paranoid. When washing your hands, remember the old standby and sing "Happy Birthday" twice to guarantee adequate hand washing time.

TW has again given superb advise. I heartily agree with everhthing that he has said.

The hair loss is temporary and your support is awesome. I am sure Amy will come through with flying colors. You guys are such a wonderful team. God bless you and keep you both.

Use the Purell or other hand sanitizers with aloe, easier on the skin long-term.

It's like you say Peg; " It's just a bump in the road". Keep thinking positive. Our hearts and prayers are with you both ! Keep us posted.

Tell her to keep hanging in there, she'll be complaining in NO time that she "needs to get her bangs trimmed".
(only pass that on if she will see the humor in it)
