2How added.
Me too. 2How your family will be in my prayers. Would you kindly provide a first name?

Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. The only thing you can’t do is ignore them

How is Amy doing?

Been quiet for a while, and hoping all is well!

How is Amy doing?

Been quiet for a while, and hoping all is well!

Doing OK, thanks........ kind of getting back into a routine after some hang-ups in the very beginning.

We've been busy for the last few weeks getting ready for the new granddaughter and focusing on some home repairs and such things that needed to get done on the property and I haven't taken the time to post an update.

Amy's handling the chemo pretty well, still no major nausea and we're thankful for that. It's the booster shot for her immune system that is making her feel like crap. It makes her feel like she has the flu half of the time. It stimulates white cell growth in the bone marrow and that causes her lower back and pelvic bone to ache because that's the largest area for bone marrow production.

She had a check-up consultation with the oncology doctor last week at her treatment and after he examined her he could find no physical signs of the enlarged lymph nodes (they said with lymphoma, the chemo usually kills the cells in the first two treatments, and that the rest are just to make sure it is gone). He said he couldn't even feel any residual swelling or scar tissue. He was pleased enough that he said they may only need to treat with chemo through January instead of March.
He did say that after the chemo, she will need 25 radiation treatments as a follow-up precaution. She will go five days a week for five weeks.

Anyway, a continuing thanks for the prayers and concerns.

Tell Amy she is still in our thoughts and prayers.

Check on the 25 radiation treatments, not to go against what the doctor said, but there are numerous studies that fluctuate the needed number of radiation treatments needed after chemo.

Why 25, not 15? My wife, Ruth, during her radiation, was "burned" on her right breast, armpit, and shoulder. Later, she found out that for her type of cancer, after chemo, less radiation would have been OK.

Nothing wrong with asking the doc, where 25 comes from,....

Thanks for the update, we all care about Amy here, and Ruth and I are keeping her in our prayers.

Thanks....we did ask about the number.
He said it will be lower doses over a longer period. He said a stretched out duration with lower dosages sometimes works better,  with fewer side effects. He also said that number may be reduced pending a PET scan after chemo to see where we stand. The 25 was a 'best guess' considering that we are still months away from it.
We'll know more later on, but I was planning on discussing it further and in more detail with both doctors when that time comes.
