When did Holiday Inn get shooting ranges? I may use them more now.  ;D

In some cities they are the shooting ranges.

OK, this is probably my last post on the subject.  I went to a range today and was able to shoot 50 rounds of really expensive cheap reloaded range ammo.  No problems, no issues, just a lot of fun!  I believe it's fixed.

Here's the obligatory picture of my target:

That was the last 22 rounds from 7 yards.  The room key is for reference, and to prove that I did in fact stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night (and tonight, and tomorrow night).  I am in love!   :)

Now das what I'm talkin' 'bout, Willis!!!!   ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D

Well I sent the 1911 in for the 3rd time today.  It's still not functioning reliably.  I called them yesterday, gave them the repair number from the last time and told them what was happening with it.  The guy on the phone told me they didn't have any of that information when the dealer sent it in for me.  Apparently they just sent it in for "repair" without any description of the problem.  Probably thought they were humoring me since they said there was nothing wrong with it.

Anyway, I had to call them back today because the FEDEX label that they were supposed to email me yesterday never came.  Turns out the man I spoke to yesterday spelled my name wrong - my first name, the easy one.  He also mis-spelled the name of my town.

All I need now is a job and some money and I can get that Glock.  Maybe one in .45ACP to replace the 1911 I payed for but never knew.   >:(

Sounds frustratiing. The dealer should have named every malf that he ever heard of, or been VERY specific explaining the problem.
What is the gun doing now?

You can say lots of bad things about pedophiles; but at least they drive slowly past schools.

Same thing it was doing last time.  It seems that rounds aren't seating fully and the slide isn't closing all the way.

Like so:

I need to learn more about this stuff, so I'm taking a correspondence course on gunsmithing.  Very much like trying to learn surgery over the internet, I know, but it's a start.

I explained everything in great detail at the dealer, and the guy just said to the gunsmith it was an FTF.  He (the gunsmith) shot a couple rounds through it and it didn't happen (of course).  He was trying to tell me it was the ammunition (happened with every kind I tried) or my technique (I don't limp wrist) causing the problem, but he said he'd look at it.  After a couple weeks I called and they had just sent it out to Springfield.  Turns out the poor guy had been out with kidney stones pretty much since my visit (ouch).

Anyway, it came back shortly after that, which brings us to this week.  It irks me that they just sent it off without any explanation at all.  Springfield did replace the plunger tube, but that didn't fix the problem.

I included a letter explaining everything wrong, how frustrated I am, and also that I didn't like the trigger pull.  Maybe I'll get a free trigger job out of it.   ;)

I've seen extractors that were too tight cause this a couple of times.....as well as some other tolerance issues with the barrel/slide fit. Hard to tell without holding it.

Man, this one gun is making me red-faced for you, BAC.........sorry for your troubles.    :(  :(
