i plan on taking it to the range over the weekend to test how well it does under pressure.. i will report back after words

Run it hard! It's a Ruger; after all the recall hoopla, I would love to read a favorable post.

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

I'm aggravated with Ruger. I requested a box to mail my SR9 to them in early June and they told me it would be at my house at the end of the month. I still haven't gotten it, so I called them today and they said they were just now getting to the requests from the month of April...good gracious! Maybe I'm just impatient... :-\

They'll come around.  I signed up the first day it was posted on DownRange.TV and just got my box last week.  It was returned yesterday.  Not bad once you get it.  Hope your trigger pull is a whole lot less than the pull I now have.

I read your report...10 lb. triggers are horrendous. I'll say a little prayer that mine doesn't turn out that way!

Mine didn't seem like 10 lbs. but then I really didn't measure it. I'll have to look into that. The trigger feels so weird anyway that it could be 10 lbs. I'll have to look into checking it.
Maybe that explains the extra trouble I was having staying on target side to side.

I got mine back from ruger thursday..ran a hundred rounds through it today without a flaw..
i had gotten the old trigger smoothed out nice and i hated to send it back..
but the first time i pulled the trigger today with it loaded, it went off before i expected it
to..i was surprised..it is really a good trigger..i have no idea what the weight is but it
is as smooth as any i own..  it is really fun to shoot...i shot a couple of 17 round mags  as fast s i could pull the trigger
and it never failed..i am really satisfied..also bought an l c p at a gun show this morning..and it
performed perfectly also..i'll save those comments for an l c p thread.. i hope your sr9 issues turn out
as well as mine did

I had the SR9 out again this weekend, shooting it along with  a few other pistols.  I'm still not sold on it, but I'm so confused I'm going to just sit on it for awhile. I LIKE the pistol...it feels good, and now it operates really without a hitch. But I'm NOT sold on the trigger and I can't shoot it as accurately as I could prior to the retrofit. The trigger is stiff, but it's a short travel and quick recovery, but the trigger just feels very strange to me.
Plus I'm still pissed at Ruger over the whole thing and the long wait. It's not the gun I bought...it has changed quite a bit.

I've actually been thinking of getting rid of it to buy something else, but for what I'd get on a trade in I'm probably better off just keeping it.

Like I said, I'm going to take my time...maybe it'll grow on me or I'll get used to the trigger. The gun works fine and is reliable...as long as I'm not shooting at something 25 yards away, I think it's ok, but it certainly isn't a target pistol, and it's less accurate than it was before the new trigger.

Folks should wait till they have 500 or so rounds through the SR9, see if that doesn't improve the trigger, also see what can be accomplished with a trigger job. It wasn't that long ago that if you bought a 1911 the first thing you did was send it out for a tune up.
