So I wonder what Ruger thinks now that pretty much every gun forum has 2-3 SR9 threads right on top.

The more I read the better feel for trading mine off when I did heck I even got rid of my LCP the only Ruger I now own and ever will own is my trusty 10/22.


Hey now, I wouldn't totally trash Ruger because they do make fine revolvers.  I won't trade my Redhawk and Blackhawks away for anything.  For some reason they just have never made great semi-auto pistols.

After owning a 10/22 and knowing people that own other Ruger products I know some of there stuff is good. But to buy two guns have problems with both leaves me with a bitter taste in my mouth and a lighter wallet. I had my LCP for two days and it was crap so I sent it in and went without it for over a month while my LCP was away I then find out about the SR9 recall which was the cherry on the Ruger sundae.

I just think maybe they should have kept the money they spent on "neat" hats and just built a better SR9.

I just got a flyer for a Metcalf gunshow in Tulsa. They are advertising a "New Ruger 9mm" for $309. When, I acquired mine, it was marked $475. Looks like it depreciated rather quickly. So much fo r a good investment!

I shot my buddies SR9 and you couldn't chase me fast enough to give it to me, worst trigger ever long and about 10 lbs. I think it will be up for sale when he gets over the shock. sorry  :'( :-X

Whats really sad is when my PX4 used in double action has a softer trigger pull than a retrofitted SR9.

Being the guy who raised the most hell about my SR9 I have to be fair...after some 'voice of reason" from MB I am diligent in trying to make this gun work for me. Since I got it back and raised a stink, I have hours and hours of dry firing, over 700 rounds at the range, I've been working the striker spring back as far as it will go...all with a lot of gun oil- basically trying to use the heck out of it and loosen it up. With the ammo it's still costing me a lot of money just trying to get good shots, but I said I'd try.

I have found that I have improved my shot placement to where they are all near target within reason, but it's still really difficult to shoot with any consistency compared to my other pistols. My Sig Pro2022 in 9mm is not known for accuracy, but I can't group shots with the SR9 like the Sig.

So....improvement, but not what I'd call great, or even good. AND it takes GREAT concentration to do just average shooting...any slip up, anything at all, and you can't find the bullet hole.

I'm going to keep at it, but I still wouldn't recommend the gun to anyone unless they're just looking for a point blank shot defensive use.color] :-\

Thanks for the report Jaybeth,  no one can say you're not trying!

Maybe with all of this 'extra' concentration your shooting with other guns will improve too (trying to find a bright side for ya).

Well, you are just an old guitar player so thinking is probably not your forte'.  ;D

As to the other, tell them he's hurt and needs the physical therapy! ;)
